The Kama Sutra was probably written sometime between the 2nd and 3rd century AD.

It was translated for the first time from Sanskrit into English at the end of the 19th century.

Whilst it was initially misunderstood as a shady, red-light level compendium for sexual positions,

many Europeans only realized the true value of this work long afterwards.

It not only contains sexual positions, but also many chapters on ethics and acts as a general sexual counselor.
